Mirko To Join The New Event?

Mirko Cro Cop might be joining this new MMA event. He made a blog post a little while ago at mma-id.com saying that he is off to Tokyo. I’m not 100% sure that the site can be trusted, but mirko-crocop.com links to it. There is also talk about him joining the new event on a couple of other sites, here and here (down right now). Don’t be to sure about this, we’ll see what happens tomorrow.

que yo sepa su mma-id si está contrastada, no se, todo esto suena muy raro. Creo que deberia hacer un comunicado Oficial en su web al menos aclarando todos estos rumores y zanjando asi todo. No le contaba mucho. Tanta incerteza es extraña.
Aqui naduie dice nada oficial, varias webs hacen escasos articulos sobre el tema pero en ninguna ponen una foto, un comentario oficial de Mirco, nada, todo rumores, todo, quizas..., puede que..., parece que....
Si Mirco fuese Español los del tomate no saldrian de la puerta de sus casa.

Pues estamos a la expectativa, todo acerca de Crocop esta muy raro
nadie sabe cual es el rumbo que el tomara

Si mañana aparece en FEG tengan por seguro que UFC lo va demandar Triste

Mirco Crocop en estos momentos se encuentra en Japon lo confirma Fightlinker.com

So Mirko Crocop is making an announcement tomorrow about his career. FROM JAPAN. Seems like the UFC has been losing a lot of it’s ‘hardball’ exchanges lately:

I’m off to Tokyo!
A big announcement will come straight from Japan tomorrow (February 13).
When the official part is done I’ll be able to provide more information about everything,
and believe me, I have many things to say.
What you could easily guess by now is that I won’t be retiring.
I’ll keep on fighting, it’s my life, it’s what I do.

While this could mean anything, I don’t think it means Mirko and Dana showing up in Tokyo to announce the revival of Pride or the UFC’s return to Japan. That’s about as likely as a spontaneous Captain Morgan’s style song and dance erupting right afterwards, with pigs flying as a finale.

I also have no doubt that if Mirko is heading out to announce some kind of deal with another promotion, we’ll be hearing about more lawsuits within the next week. Which sucks because I had my money on a Tito Ortiz related lawsuit before a Mirko Crocop related lawsuit. Me and several other bloggers have a pool going, you see. Because the UFC eventually seems to sue everyone. The only question is who’s next.

Oh, and I’m going to reserve my “Crocop running from the UFC with his tail tucked between his legs” post for tomorrow when he officially announces he’s running from the UFC with his tail tucked between his legs. Although there might be mitigating circumstances. Word from a Croatian newspaper says the UFC was basically demanding that Crocop take a pay cut if he wanted to keep fighting for them. If that’s the case, then I’ll side with Mirko on this one and curse Dana White for jewing me out of Crocop in the UFC.

That’s the scoop according to one Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer:

Reports from Japan, as well as a web site post by Mirko Cro Cop both state Cro Cop will be in Japan tomorrow for a press conference put on by Fighting Entertainment Group (K-1), which will announce the debut of a new MMA promotion to take the place of its Hero’s division.

Cro Cop was the most popular foreign MMA fighter in Japan when he signed a six-fight deal at the end of 2006 with UFC. After going 1-2 in UFC, it was known UFC was considering cutting him from the deal due to the high cost of his contract.

Si Crocop no se apresura a desmentir este tipo de rumores es que hay posibilidades de que deje UFC. Y seguro que a UFC no le importa dejar de pagarle todo su contrato a cambio de perder a un luchador que tiene un récord UFC de 1-2 contra gente que no está en el top 5.

pues en el caso de que vayan a comprar ufc por estare arruinado mirko crocop me parece que es el mas espabilado si es que se va pero bueno ya se aclarara todo este lio

Si ciertamente se va, de verdad, perdería gran parte del respeto y admiracion que le tengo. Un luchador como el no puede irse con la cabeza agachada de ningun sitio, eso no es propio de un ganador, de un killer como lo es (o era) él. Ojalá esté en Japon para alguna campaña publicitaria, demientas todo y a por el titulo de UFC. Pero de ser así ya lo habria dicho para cortar los rumores.
